Throughout my body of work I continue a visual narrative ofa tooth. It serves as a symbol ofsacrifice and a form of currency. Mywork details tooth currency instead of traditional forms of payment orrevenue. The collection of teethsignifies wealth and fortune used as a physical payment through extraction andcollection. How would this cognitivestyle alter your theory of something previous?
I have expanded this concept throughout my research intoavenues such as public affairs surrounding girlhood, cultural identity andpervasive developments, while also referencing popular culture. My researchbounces between and sometimes in-between two dimensional and three deletionalprocesses. From sculptural practices, traditional printmaking and new forms of collagepaintings using wood stain and physical materials. I continue to investigatethis narrative by altering the language through its visuals and mediums.
